Russian Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons (RACCVS)

The Russian Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons (RACCVS) was founded in 2003. The President of the Association is Leo A. Bockeria, MD, PhD, DSc, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Director of the Bakulev Scientific Center for Cardiovascular Surgery of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.

The Association unites leading specialists in cardiovascular surgery from all regions of Russia, as well as colleagues from abroad. Its members include heads and specialists of Russia's foremost cardiovascular surgery institutions, regional and district hospitals, and state medical universities.

The Association organises the Annual All-Russian Congress of Cardiovascular Surgeons — the largest scientific and practical event in cardiac surgery in Russia — and actively promotes international cooperation in the field.
